just picked up a copy of 69AD that I've been looking forward to for a long time. Covers the year after Nero's suicide where there were 4 emperors of Rome over the course of 1 year.
Also just started re-reading house of leaves. It's been at least 10 years since I read it, and goddamn is it one of the most unique experiences I've ever had with a book. The physical book itself and how you have to move/manipulate the pages to read them becomes part of the story. it's surreal as fuck, but I can also see how some people might feel like its a post-modernist relic of the early/mid 2000s. I don't give a shit though, I think it's a literal masterpiece.
oh and I'm also reading the back of the shampoo bottle on the toilet 💩
