Three accidents were reported, all of which resulted in injuries. One of the riders suffered a fractured wrist, one suffered facial injuries and the third became paralyzed.Trek released a statement detailing how improper installation of a front quick release lever on the bike could lead it to get caught in the front disc brake, resulting in a separation of the front wheel and loss of control for the rider. Trek will provide each owner with a free installation of a new release lever as well as a $20 coupon.Read Trek statement on the recall below:More Must-Reads from TIMEHow the Economy is Doing in the Swing StatesHarris Battles For the Bro VoteOur Guide to Voting in the 2024 ElectionMel Robbins Will Make You Do ItWhy Vinegar Is So Good for YouYou Dont Have to Dread the End of Daylight SavingThe 20 Best Halloween TV Episodes of All TimeMeet TIMEs Newest Class of Next Generation Leaders stanley cup Write stanley cup to Tessa Berenson Rogers at tessa.Rogers@time Msnj Japanese Schoolgirl Accused of Murdering, Dismembering Classmate
